Took my Tuscon in for it's first 7500 mile service today. I booked the appointment on-line through their website which was very easy to do. I was greeted warmly, they took my vehicle in on time, and I was out in about an hour. The waiting room was comfortable and there was a desk for me to set up my laptop while I waited. Everybody at Poway Mitsubishi/Hyundai make you feel at home. The Sales as well as the Service Department friendly and very helpfull. Many dealerships can learn from this. I have been a customer for a very long time and NEVER been disappointed. I **REALLY** highly recommend this dealership to everybody. Again ....2 GREAT products and the best people on earth. Mike Lacombe and Poway Hyundai are awesome!! I was in a car accident and my car was totaled. Mike made my buying this car so easy, even though it took some work on his part, he made sure that I was approved for the car I wanted and the payment under what my desired payment was. He made sure the car was ready for me when he said it would be ready. This car is better than the one I totaled, I absolutely love it and I truly appreciate Mike Lacombe and everything he did for me. I would never want to go anywhere else and would recommend Poway Hyundai and Mike Lacombe to everyone I know. If you want service with a smile and you expect excellent customer service, then Poway Hyundai is the place to go. I give them 10 stars but know this site only allows 5. Thanks Mike for all you did and made my buying experience truly easy and wonderful.

This review is strictly for the service department.

Now when it comes to anything car related, I really hate to deal with it. I tend to have the husband take it in for me when ever possible. He wasn't available any time during that week to take my car in so I had to take matters into my own hands.

Ever since I started to deal with a thirty minute commute from north county down to San Diego my car has gotten quite the mileage put on her. I drive a little elantra and well, lets get real, when you are racing to work every morning and racing to get to meetings and appointments on time, your breaks get some work put in them. the miles rack up.. your due for an oil change, etc etc. This time around my breaks we're squealing, I was due for an oil change, and my SRS light was on. Noe, my service advisor told me that it could be because one of my seat belt connectors could be defected. Honestly, I was intimidated by all of the car talk and Noe was accommodating enough to simply fix all of the issues in a timely manner, while i did work on my laptop in their guest lounge. He even gave my husband a call and told him exactly what was going on with my vehicle and if he approved of the charges. He was concise and confident in his responses towards my questions about what was really wrong with my vehicle and how long it would take. This was the perfect situation and I will be a long time customer.

As an added bonus, when it was time to pick up my keys, Kyle, the manager came out and asked how my visit was. Not too often does that happen in service drives. Actually I've owned lexus and honda for many years, I have never seen that happen. Five stars to this service department and I almost regret not rekindling my relationship with yelp sooner.

Next time I won't drag my feet so hard when it comes to taking my car in for maintenance.

PURCHASED A VEHICLE FROM POWAY /MITSUBISHI After a couple months of disappointing results from various dealerships (not just Hyundai), putting up with high pressure, haggling, cookie cutter sales reps that have no respect whatsoever for their customer's intellect…I all but gave up my search for a new vehicle and was going to just continue driving the one I owned at the time. Then came Mike Lacombe at Poway Hyundai Mitsubishi.

75% EMAIL 25% PHONE CORRESPONDENCE: I emailed Mike Lacombe my vehicle request, I was shocked at how quickly and precisely he matched the vehicle that I was looking for. I was on the fence about it (since it had to be driven down to San Diego from north of Los Angeles). I decided to have him look for a similar vehicle locally. Once again, he came back to me quickly within an hour with a variety to choose from. This is where I began to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I called Mike and found him to be well spoken, honest and with a reassuring/unassuming tone. At this point I was relived to even just be speaking with an "auto sales person" that sounded like he knew what he was talking about; straight to the point and had an answer for every question I had without any hesitation (remember by this time, I had been dealing with seemingly every car dealership in San Diego county...Dodge, Ford, Honda, etc…walk-ins, email correspondence, etc…).

VISITING MIKE AT THE DEALERSHIP: ...I eventually chose a vehicle to test drive. When I arrived to Poway Hyundai, I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean and well kept the building was. The sales reps all looked professional and relaxed. They also were quick to help me locate Mike Lacombe. Mike took me through the process; outlining the details of the vehicle, making sure I was comfortable with the car I chose, mentioning things I would've never thought about prior to purchasing a new vehicle. Once I was certain this was it, he got on the case immediately and we were done with the deal within 24hrs. MIke treated me with respect and didn't haggle me one bit through the car buying process. As a matter of fact, I felt like I was communicating with a friend and had quite a few laughs with him. (side note: his office is clean...spotless/scentless, no clutter anywhere in sight. you would've thought the building itself was constructed this year just by how well kept it is). I eventually signed the contract and spent some time chatting with Mike as I would a good friend. I actually have not only purchased a car but feel like i've also gotten a new friend with the deal lol. Finally, to Mike Lacombe, if you read this, many thanks from me and my wife. To anyone thinking of purchasing a vehicle through Hyundai Poway's internet vehicle purchasing program, I would say it works way better than I anticipated. It takes all of the anxiety and hassle out of buying a car. At least through this location.

We did not purchase a car here, but if Hyundai made the car I was looking for, I certainly would purchase it here. Steve was an excellent salesman and his manager was top notch as well. They understood what I was looking for, were knowledgable and were not too pushy with the sale. They were even eager to negotiate a price that would work for us. Excellent!

Go test drive the Hyundai Tucson! It's fun!

After having narrowed down our car choices to the Toyota Prius, the Ford Fusion, and the Hyundai Elantra, my wife and I started the long, exhausting process of looking up and contacting all the dealers in our area. Our contact at Poway Hyundai was Mike Lacombe, the internet sales manager, who was immediately very helpful as well as very frank about the current situation of their warehouse and the market for the Elantra (which as we found out from many sources, is quite a hot item at the moment). From the beginning to the end Mike was very attentive to our questions (both during and between our multiple visits, as well as after the deal had been made) and did his best to help us find options that worked best with our budget. We were very satisfied with our purchase (the Elantra drives very well and feels like a luxury car, even for an entry-level mid-sized vehicle) and very satisfied with the service we received!

I recently purchased a used vehicle at Poway Hyundai and I must say it was the best experience I have ever had at a dealership. From the moment I walked in the dealership I felt a sense of confort and welcoming. I do not have the best credit in the world and needless to say they went up and beyond helping me get financed. The staff is not pushy at all. The person I worked with is Rudy Reid and I can say he is the most professional and assertive person. He knows what he is talking about and at no time does he force you to make a decision that you dont want to. He was very courteous, extemely helpful and very respectful!! If I could give them more stars I would!!!! I walked out with my new veh in no time feeling on top of the world! I highly recommend checking this dealer out and ask for Rudy!!

I came into Poway Hyundai to check out Hyundai for my next car. Hyundai is one of the best cars on the road today. I had some specific and possibly unrealistic goals for my next new car purchase. Though we weren't able to make a deal that day, I can see myself coming back to this dealership for one simple reason. I was treated very well. They were professional,  knowledgeable, and very low pressure. From my salesmen, Steve and Rudy to the sales manager, Scott. No games. Just good information and a realistic assessment of the new car market today. I'll go home without a car today but I wouldn't be surprised if I end up back here to get an Accent or Elantra. I first leased a car from Poway Hyundai. When my lease was up I decided to purchase another Hyundai from this dealership. The sales people were very attentive when leasing and purchasing our vehicles. The staff are very friendly and did not make the task of purchasing a car a dreadful one. No one wants to arrive at a dealership and feel pressured into buying a vehicle, at Poway Hyundai they were very patient and let me check out all the vehicles I was interested in without making me feel like I had to purchase. They answered all of my questions and let me testdrive everything I was interested in. When it came time to buy, they found the exact car I wanted and even though it was at another Hyundai dealership, they got it to their dealership and we closed the deal. I have referred family and friends to them and will continue to do so in the future!

We just purchased our new Elantra from them and I would say we could not be more satisfied with the way we were treated. The floor manager Scott took us to a test drive and was Very courteous an polite although sometimes our questions were sometimes admittedly "childish". We were even able to negotiate a small but indicative of the dealership's willingness to do business discount on the best selling vehicle in their inventory. Compared to the other Hyundai dealers we visited looking for a car - these guys were, hands down - the best! My only regret is they are not closer to us to get all services done with their service dept.

6/27/2011 I went with a friend to this dealership because he was in search of a used car. we had spent all day looking at dealerships all over the place. we stopped here part way through the day knowing that they probably wouldn't have the used truck my friend was looking for for but this is the only dealership that sticks out in my head because of their customer service. This place has salesmen that treat you like actual human beings. I am 51 years old and I have bought many cars in my life time and this dealership has really something special going on. They are very courteous, helpful and extremely respectful!

6/23/2011 I have owned many many cars.. for the past few years they have been Toyota's, but every week I was getting recall notices in the mail and when would call a Toyota dealeship they would always tell me the parts weren't in, and with having a small child, I didn't know if it was safe to drive my car anymore!!!! So I did alot a research and Hyundai was the best when in came to cost, miles per gallon, guaranteed trade value and they have the best looking car out on the market right now!! The 2011 Sonata. The sales staff and sales mangers at Poway Hyundai were fantastic!! Since I am a woman buying the car myself, none of the sales team talked down to me or made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about or what I wanted. I would say this was the BEST BUYING EXPERIENCE I have ever had. I plan on going back for service and to get my next car.

My old car died on my recent trip home to San Diego. Whatever was I to do? Get a new car! Because I had attended the auto show in San Francisco less than a month prior, I had a pretty good idea what I wanted: the Hyundai Sonata. It being the end of the year and all, I figured I could find a good deal on an '09 model.

My first stop was Frank Hyundai. They had a couple '09 models but not in my preferred color. The salesman didn't seem particularly interested in discussing prices with me, so I decided I would have to visit at least one other Hyundai dealership.

I stopped by Ball Kia (good guys, but the Optima just didn't do it for me) and then called up a few Hyundai dealerships. Kearny Mesa Hyundai--no good colors. Drew Hyundai--took an act of Congress to get a salesman on the phone. Poway Hyundai--no '09's but boy do we have a deal on the '10's. And they actually did. And they had my top two color picks (khaki green, camel) in stock!

I took a gamble and drove up to Poway (I borrowed my aunt's car) to check them out. The dealership seemed to be 500 miles from the 15, but it was clean, modern, and well organized. The salesman I had spoken with on the phone was there and led me right to the Sonatas. And as it turns out, my two top color picks were parked side-by-side.


After a short test drive, I was back in the dealership and talking numbers. This is the only part where the "typical" car salesman approach was used, as the "basic" car price was not provided alongside the "special" packages including stuff like Lo-Jack. When I was given that basic number, I managed to negotiate a slight discount over the already exceptional sale price.

I arrived at Poway Hyundai owning nothing more than a busted jalopy and departed the owner of a shiny new (green) car, which I had bought at a great price. Success!
